The Evangelical Lutheran Church of PNG has a position available for an experienced Accountant.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of PNG (ELCPNG) is committed in its relationship in building, caring and sharing resources and services that increase knowledge and capability of the people and communities to use God-given powers of wisdom, intellect and creativity to manage resources of their surroundings.

The Church urgently requires the services of an experienced and qualified accountant to be based in its Head Office in Lae (Ampo), Morobe Province.

To be eligible for this role the person they seek should meet the following:

Duties and responsibilities

• Responsible for documenting financial transactions by ensuring and correctness in all cost center/job order when entering information in MYOB.
• Reconcile payments and receipts from MYOB to bank statements for ELCPNG general finance, faith offering, special purpose and designated bank accounts on a daily basis in order to produce a bank reconciliation statement for all bank accounts.
• Analysis of budget vs. actual for expenditure line item per divisions with each department and in total for ELCPNG and report on variances to the budget manager,

Job requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Commerce or related finance/disciplines
• CPA Qualifications would be an advantage
• Minimum of 3 Years practice as an accountant or 5 years of experience in accounting work
• Knowledge in Taxation and Nasfund rules and regulation — compliance
