The Port Moresby Nature Park is currently recruiting for a highly capable, experienced accounts professional to join their Finance Department. This newly created role will work closely with the Finance Manager and lead a team of accounts professionals in managing all the finances of the Nature Park received through public, private and self-generated means.

Duties and responsibilities

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position is responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Coordinating and assisting with all Financial & Accounting functions, including but not limited to; general ledger reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets registry, depreciation schedules, sponsorship record management, capital works expenditure and management, payroll management and cash management processes
• Assist the Finance Manager in developing and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial activities and assets of the organization including conducting internal audits and reviews to ensure all processes are being followed
• Oversee the maintenance of the fixed assets registry assuring all assets are appropriately recorded, depreciatedand moved accordingly

Job requirements

• Degree qualifications in Accounting/Finance
• Working towards PNG CPA qualifications (must have completed a minimum of 50% of course work)
• At least 3 years experience in an a similar role, preferably in a commercial setting (although non-profit background also favorable)
• Proficient in MYOB Premier and Microsoft office applications especially Excel
