The Company: East New Britain Development Corporation Limited is the business arm of the East New Britain Provincial Government. The company has subsidiary businesses involved in Property Investments; Stevedoring and Transport Operations; Copra and Cocoa export; and Building & Constructions.

The Position: Excellent opportunity exists within the East New Britain Development Corporation Ltd Group of Companies based in Kokopo, ENBP for the vacancy of Chief Executive Officer. They require the services of an experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and invite applicants to apply.

They are looking for a collaborative and inspirational hands-on leader to work with the ENBDC Board to implement optimal business processes within the business to achieve growth and profitability targets.

Reporting to the ENBDC Board, the successful candidate will direct, administer and coordinate the internal operational activities of ENBDC Group in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by the Board of Directors. He or She will lead and direct the following functions and/or business units:

  • Operations; Finance & Administration; Information systems & New business coordination

He/she will also assist the ENBDC Executive Management Team in the development of organization policies and goals that cover operations, personnel, financial performance, and growth of the functions and/or business units mentioned above.

Job requirements

  • Formal qualification at degree level or higher in a commercial discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Fifteen (15) years or more Executive level management experience within a commercial context.
  • Financial and Business acumen.
  • Previous successful Board membership is desirable.
  • A clean record, civically and criminally.
  • An in-depth knowledge of Company operations and its processes and procedures.
  • Proven negotiation and relationships development experience.
  • Proven experience working with large time critical projects.
  • Proven experience of business communication to a Board level combined with highly developed written and verbal communication skills and Ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience of developing and implementing organizational strategies in a multi-dimensional organisation with various group subsidiaries.
