The PNG Accident Investigation Commission (AIC) is seeking an experienced and qualified person for the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The AIC is seeking experienced and qualified personnel to fill the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) role based at Port Moresby, National Capital District.
Responsibilities
- CEO of the AIC reports directly to the board of commissioners and the Minister of Civil Aviation for the overall performance of the commission.
- The CEO is expected to develop performance objectives, and to develop working relationships with key aviation stakeholders, state bodies, and the greater aviation body corporates both domestically and internationally for the enhancement of aviation safety.
- Section 32 Accountable Officer, the CEO is required to ensure strict adherence to the requirements of the Public Finance Management Act, the PNG Civil Aviation Act, and all statutory legislation that apply to the Commission
Requirements
- Have Qualification at the Degree level in Aviation or Safety or relevant related science or engineering field. Aviation-license holders such as commercial Pilots, Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, Air Traffic Controllers, etc, shall also possess a management-related diploma from a recognised institution.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience with at least five years as a general or executive manager in the field of aviation and/or transport safety and investigations.
- Experience in and knowledge of the public sector, preferably with government statutory bodies. Possess comprehensive knowledge of the PNG Government systems, processes, and policies relevant to Statutory bodies.
