The Morobe Provincial Health Authority is seeking applications from exceptional candidates for the position of Chief Executive Officer.

The Morobe Provincial Health Authority (MoPHA) was launched in June 2019 by bringing together the Hospital systems (National health function) and Rural Health Services (Provincial Health function) in the Province. Under the “One System Tasol” concept, the MoPHA is seizing this opportunity to bring transformational changes in the way Health Care and Delivery is executed in sustainable, efficient, and community-focused approach for the people of the Morobe Province.

The MoPHA is seeking applications from exceptional candidates for the position of CEO.

This is a critical leadership role in the delivery of quality health services to the people of Morobe Province and is based in Lae and reports to the Chairman and Board of Governance of the MoPHA.

The MoPHA requires a highly competent, professional person from the Health Services sector, with significant demonstrated skills covering Leadership, Change Management, Negotiations and Communications, who can perform decisively and effectively at the highest level.

The CEO will be responsible for leading the management teams of Medical, Nursing, Corporate, Church Health, Population Health and Clinical Services Network and other administrative frameworks of the MoPHA.

Job requirements

Expected competencies:

• Masters or Postgraduate Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Policy Management or Law and other health qualifications
• Minimum 10 years demonstrated senior level management and leadership experience in large public or commercial organisations
• Knowledge of the Provincial Health Authorities Act 2007, National Health Administration Act 1997, Organic Law on Provincial & Local-level Governments 1995, Public Services Management Act 1995 and its General Orders, the Public Finances (Management) Act 1995, the Audit Act 1989 and other relevant government legislation
