Kumul Telikom Holdings Limited (KTHL) is looking for an experienced CEO to lead and manage Telikom PNG.

Kumul Telikom Holdings Limited (KTHL) is a holding company endorsed by NEC to oversee all State interests in the information and telecommunication (ICT) sector of Papua New Guinea. KTHL through its shareholder Kumul Consolidated Holdings (KCH) is currently restructuring the three telecommunication entities (Telikom, Bmobile, and PNG DataCo) into one communications service provider from wholesale services to retail mobile and fixed line. Through infrastructure investment and adoption of next generation network architecture and platforms, the new company will be more efficient and competitive so customers can enjoy affordable, reliable, comprehensive access to communication services.

KTHL is now looking for an experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead and manage Telikom PNG (TPNG) to stabilise, transform and reposition the company into becoming a market leader and preferred provider of fixed voice and broadband data services. As the CEO of PNG’s leading state-owned telecommunications entity, you will be responsible for ensuring overall business strategy and success of the organisation. You will be required to consolidate and monetise existing infrastructure, drive revenue and profitability through partnerships with private and government stakeholders to gain competitive value. You will be playing an important role in repositioning the company through the current reformed processes, implement and liaise with KTHL Board/ management and key leaders in KCH, other SOE5, government departments and customers. While relevant and proven experience is critical to the role, the successful candidate will be an innovator, out of the box thinker, able to see the big picture as well as a great people leader. The CEO role will be based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea and reports directly to the KTHL Board.

Job requirements

To meet the challenge and be effective in the above role, you must possess and be able to demonstrate:

• A minimum of a Graduate/ Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised tertiary institution/ university (preferably in Electrical Engineering or Business Administration)
• A Masters in Engineering/Business Administration from a reputable national/international institute is highly desirable
• Previous working experience as a CEO or C-suite role for a minimum of 5 years or similar
• Background in telecommunications, ICT and emerging markets exposure will be highly regarded as will knowledge of communications, power and general environmental condition systems
