PNG Air is seeking a qualified individual to join its team as Chief Financial Officer.

PNG Air with its new fleet of ATR 72-600 series aircraft and a workforce of over 750 is now one of the largest airline operators in this region with extensive operations in the domestic network. The airline is also expanding rapidly to cater for the phenomenal growth in the Papua New Guinea economy.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer will be accountable for administrative financial risk management processes of the Airline including development of a financial and operational strategy in a very challenging environment.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree, must be a full member of CPA or equivalent recognised professional accounting body in their country, and will be required to register with the PNG CPA.

They must also have an extensive experience in financial and cash flow management in a senior management role.

Experience in PNG is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Driving the overall direction of the division and efficient use of resources, including setting KPIs of managers based on CEO objectives
• Preparing and managing the annual financial budget for the Company and preparing the budget for signoff by the Board
• Serving as the Company’s governance liaison officer to financial rating agencies.
• Liaising in a timely fashion with the Board Audit Risk Compliance Committee (BARCC) on material financial and accounting matters affecting the Company.
