The Internal Revenue Commission is seeking an experienced and highly qualified executive to join its team as Internal Revenue Commission Commissioner Tax Wing

The Internal Revenue Commission is seeking a highly qualified, competent and experienced Executive to provide planning, strategic leadership and policy directions to the Internal Revenue Commission Tax Wing. The Commissioner is also a part of the IRC Commission that deals with the Commission matters and reports to the Minister for Treasury through the Commissioner General.

Key responsibilities

The Commissioner is accountable for the administration, assessment, collection and protection of taxes under the tax laws for the Government of Papua New Guinea. The Commissioner is also responsible for the provision of revenue reports from the Tax Wing for the purpose of the IRC annual reports as required under the IRC Act and tax laws and such other reports relating to revenue or tax operations of the Internal Revenue Commission as required by the Commissioner General.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the PNG Public Service minimum person specifications and possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Economics or Law qualification or a Master Degree preferably from a recognised university. He or she would normally have at least a minimum of five years’ experience at executive level.
