BSP is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Executive Banker to work in our fast-growing and expanding organization. The Country Head Tonga is the most senior management role responsible for overall business growth, profitability and change management at BSP Tonga, and reports to the General Manager Offshore Branches.

Key tasks and responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction to deliver strategic priorities and develop new and innovative strategies including Digital Banking solutions.
• Manage all internal and external stakeholders including liaison with Government regulatory bodies, including the National Reserve Bank of Tonga, to oversee and ensure compliance with all prudential guidelines.
• Lead and empower the team to be the leading bank in Tonga.

Essential qualifications, professional/ skills and experience

• 10 years or more experience in the Banking and Finance Sector with strong Commercial Lending acumen and Retail Banking knowledge
• A Degree in Banking, Finance or related Business discipline is desirable
• Demonstrated track record in contributing to business performance through strategic and operational competence
• Sound leadership skills and proven experience in leading large and diverse teams to deliver results
• Proven networking skills and the ability to create strong relationships with customers, regulators and the community
• Demonstrate strong business acumen and knowledge of general banking industry and external markets
• A working knowledge of the Pacific region, its People and Cultures and a proven ability to culturally-assimilate
