Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited is looking for an outstanding and experienced candidate for the role of External Affairs Manager.

Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited (KPHL) is Papua New Guinea’s national oil and gas company (NOC) mandated to protect and maximise the value of the country’s petroleum assets such that it can contribute to the maximum wealth for its ultimate shareholders; the 7 million plus people of Papua New Guinea. KPHL is currently responsible for managing the State’s 16.57 per cent equity in the US$19 billion PNG LNG project through its subsidiary Kumul Petroleum (PNG LNG) Limited); becoming the third largest partner in the country’s single biggest investment made to date.

They intend to continue to expand and build their human capital to create a centre of excellence and professionalism for the oil and gas business such that they can fulfil their mandate of maximising the value of their investments for their stakeholders particularly the Government and people of Papua New Guinea.

Reporting to the EGM Corporate Services, this role is responsible for maintaining strategic business partnerships with government agencies, professional associations, investors, suppliers and the communities at large.

Key responsibilities

  • Advise on approaches to stakeholder engagement, including establishing relationships with key professional bodies, business groups, and pressure groups
  • Provide timely and well-considered advice to Management regarding stakeholder communications, including possible announcements and media appearances

Job requirements

  • A primary degree in Arts (Political Science), Law, or Management with additional post-graduate qualifications.
  • Knowledge of the oil and gas industry
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation in oil and gas
