Finance Manager


The Papua New Guinea Accident Investigation Commission has a vacancy for an experienced Finance Manager.

The PNG Accident Investigation Commission is the State Entity in Papua New Guinea responsible for conducting ‘independent-objective’ and ‘no blame, investigations into aircraft accidents and serious incidents in accordance with ICAO Annex 13 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation. As a signatory to the Convention, PNG is committed to ensure aviation safety improvements in PNG, the Pacific region, and globally through its investigations and the public release of its investigation reports. Fulfilling their obligations to ICAO is of critical importance for the National Government of PNG. They work with all stakeholders through open constant dialogue and cooperation to seek safety action to address all safety deficiencies identified in the investigations for the purposes of improving aviation safety.

The AIC has a vacancy for a qualified and experienced Finance Manager. As a key member of the Management team, the Finance Manager reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer. He/She will assume a strategic role in the overall management of the PNGAIC financial management challenges.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide accurate financial information for Board and management
  • Monitor cash flows and predict future trends, including managing the budget
  • Formulate strategic and long-term business plans and budgets in line with Government of PNG (GoPNG) budget formulation, Public Finance Management Act and GoPNG reporting frameworks and system
  • Implement mechanisms that minimise financial risks and improve governance

Job Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Registered member of CPA PNG
  • Minimum 10 Years Work Experience in a similar role
