Port Moresby Nature Park (PMNP) is currently is seeking a highly motivated, confident, hands-on, animal ‘all-rounder’ to take on the General Manager – Life Sciences position, based in Port Moresby.

Key responsibilities

The GM-LS is responsible for the management of three key Departments: wildlife, grounds and conservation education.  Wildlife Management includes the overall, high standards of animal care, health and welfare, including management of our wildlife rescue services, species breeding programmes, research programs, oversite of animal food purchasing (local & international), on-site live-food production, and preventative and curative health care with vet support.

Requirements

• Multiple years’ experience in wildlife care and management, across multiple species, including marsupials, birds, reptiles and amphibians.
• Sounds knowledge of Species360 and animal records management.
• Have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with proven experience promoting a positive team culture and engaging visitors.
