Port Moresby Natural Park is seeking an experienced Grounds Manager to join its Senior Management Team to lead the growth of its charitable organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Supervises grounds staff to ensure grounds are clean and presentable for visitors to the park
- Coordinates staff and specific tasks as part of garden maintenance program
- Continually reviews staffing requirements for the Grounds department ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly communicated and managed
- Reviews existing process to identity opportunities for increased efficiency
- Ensures all garden special projects are followed as per instructions given by the Curator
- Develops annual garden maintenance and replanting projects for implementation into the Park
- Overseas off-site landscaping projects & client garden maintenance projects
- Ensures all tools & equipment used by the grounds department are well maintained and returned to the appropriate location each day
Job requirements
- Excellent language skills in both Pidgin and English (spoken and written)
- Must be reliable and hardworking
- Ability to manage and lead a team
- Be able to work within time frames
- Knowledge of gardening and basic identification of plants
- Knowledge of health & safety procedures
Education and Qualifications
- Diploma in Landscaping or Gardening preferred or at least 5years of demonstrated management experience
- Must have a class 3 and 6 driver’s license
- Must be mature, honest with good organisation and communication skills
- Must be passionate about building PNG’s leading attraction
