Group General Manager Compliance

BSP is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the recently created position of Group General Manager Compliance. The role will be responsible for assisting and guiding the Internal Audit and Compliance & AML Business Units to effectively implement their business strategies in line with the BSP Group governance objectives.

In this newly created position, the successful candidate will be required to lead and provide strategic management advice on delivering options and taking accountability for the development, implementation and ongoing management of compliance with regulatory, legal obligations to meet industry best practice. This includes governance, program controls, assurance, compliance and performance frameworks that satisfy the BSP Group’s commercial, operational and strategic objectives. This role reports directly to the Group Chief Executive Officer and is based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea

Job requirements

  • Minimum University Degree in Business Administration or related field (An MBA or postgraduate qualifications would be an advantage).
  • More than 10 years senior management experience in managing audit, risk and compliance activities or similar.
  • Advanced knowledge in Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance and Audit Management.
  • Possess customer service skills and demonstrate a superior knowledge of the overall banking regulatory environment.
  • Developed people management skills and leadership skills.
  • Ability to make timely decisions in rapidly changing and high risk situations.
  • Experience in dealing with Governments and Central Banks.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with Executive Management, Board of Directors and Stakeholders (both internal/external).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and results-driven environment.
