The opportunity

As the Head of Compliance, your strengths need to be strategy, technical advisory and leadership!

Play a key influencing role in the company to control for risk and ensure business operations are compliant with regulatory standards.

Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, this position will give you the opportunity to create stretch goals and design, set up and implement the plans to reach them. No week is average in Port Moresby! You will:

  • Play a key role in the country’s executive leadership team;
  • Lead and guide your functional team and all risk and compliance activities;
  • Oversee the design, setup and implementation of risk management and compliance frameworks and strategies;
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, encouraging a culture of compliance;
  • Uphold the highest professional standards and integrity in your work and embed a culture of risk management supported by clear policy;
  • Revise procedures, evaluate employee risk awareness and commit to training the organisation

Key requirements

  • Bachelor of Finance, Law, Economics, Business or other relevant field (Post graduate qualifications desirable);
  • Strong experience in compliance and risk, with strong exposure to legal environments and stakeholder management;
  • Strong knowledge of PNG financial regulations and relevant legal frameworks;
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate complex ideas;
  • Clear ability to effectively manage high levels of complexity, ambiguity and change;
  • Detail orientation, highly analytical
