PNGJobSeek’s client has a vacancy for an individual with strong telco experience in Port Moresby.

The successful candidate will be based in Port Moresby and will be reporting directly to the Chief Technical Officer.

Manager – Network Operations Centre role is a senior role and it involves the management of the Network Operation Centre personnel which consists of teams working a 5×8 and also a 7×24 shift. This role will include the overseeing of all network monitoring, reporting and escalation management, and also co-ordination of field teams and other engineering and operational resources of the Technical Department, for both Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.

Job requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Science Engineering from a recognised Engineering institution in PNG or overseas with extensive experience working in a telco environment or similar utility type network operations centre is desired for this role.

Experience

• Minimum middle or Senior Management experience of not less than five years in a similar role in a telco environment or similar utility or industrial network operations centre and experience in telecommunication NOC would be an advantage
• Well vested experience and ability to cope with ad hoc Emergency Escalation Management within internal and external stakeholders with clear, concise and regular communication

Skills

• Excellent written and communication skills and ability to communicate well with immediate supervisors and other internal and external stakeholders
• An in-depth understanding of Mobile Telecommunications from RAN, IP Core, Voice, Packet Data to Network Performance
• In-depth Experience & understanding of all telco power system, SCADA systems technologies, Inverters, Power Controllers and the like
