NSPA is seeking to engage a dynamic, competent and qualified candidate to fill the Manager – NIMAMAR Special Purpose Authority role.

The NIMAMAR Rural Local Level Government in accordance with Section 42 of the Local Level Government Administrative Act of 1997 has established the NIMAMAR RURAL LLG Special Purpose Authority to assist NRLLG in the planning and implementation of infrastructures, social and economic development projects for the mine affected communities in the LLG area.

NSPA is seeking to engage a dynamic, competent and qualified candidate to fill the Manager – NIMAMAR Special Purpose Authority role. Located on Lihir Island, New Ireland Province and reporting to the Chairman of NSPA Board, the purpose of the role is to provide overall strategic leadership, direction and control of all activities and operations of the Authority in performance of all the key functions to ensure effective achievement of the goals and purposes of the Authority.

Job requirements

• Bachelor degree of Commerce, Business Management, Economics, Civil Engineering or related field as may be acceptable to the NIMAMAR SPA Board.
• Minimum of 10 years’ senior management experience in similar setting.

Skills

• Strategic planning and implementation of processes and tools.
• Project management including planning, evaluation and monitoring processes and tools.
• Relevant laws and regulations governing the operations of Special Purpose Authorities in PNG.
• Able to lead direct reports and line managers in the development of the SPA Corporate and Strategic Plan and present to the Board.
• Able to lead in business negotiations for annual work plans and budgets for the SPA.
• Able to confidently make decisions in tight situations.
