Kumul Consolidated Holdings (KCH) is a State-owned Statutory Corporation with a clearly defined mandate to build shareholder wealth and to improve the provision of services to the people of Papua New Guinea. KCH is the Trustee Shareholder for eleven Majority State Owned Enterprises (SOE) operating in the sectors of aviation, banking & financial services, insurance, maritime infrastructure, power, post & logistics, telecommunications, water & sanitation. KCH is also authorised to manage the recruitment of SOE Managing Directors.

PNG Power Limited (PPL) is wholly owned by the Government through KCH and is one of Papua New Guinea’s largest state-owned enterprises, employing over 2,000 staff. PPL owns and operates the generation, transmission, distribution systems and retailing of electricity in urban and rural areas of Papua New Guinea. It operates 34 centres in PNG, has a total of 4100km of transmission and distribution lines, total energy generation is 1.3m MWh and serves approximately 130,000 customers.

Reporting to the Board, the Managing Director will provide overall leadership and direction for the Company ensuring organisational performance is delivered at the high standards. Your visionary leadership, problem solving and strong financial acumen will enable you to effectively manage a multi-faceted business, in line with reform and strategic planning initiatives to ensure the delivery of numerous high impact projects.

Job requirements

• Post Graduate qualifications in Engineering or Commerce / Business
• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering discipline
• Minimum of 10 years executive management experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of power & energy sector
