Maritime Sector Governance Officer, Papua New Guinea – Australia Transport Sector Support Program

The role

The program now seeks applications for the position of Maritime Sector Governance Officer to work full-time based in Port Moresby (to April 2020) with potential for extension. This position will support the Transport Sector Development Manager (TSDM) and the Senior Maritime Adviser to support improved governance and coordination across PNG maritime agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting the TSDM in the revitalization of the Maritime Working Group;
• Developing improved maritime sector governance including identification and monitoring of sector plans, projects, budgets and coordination, including major maritime project developments currently underway or planned;

Job requirements

• Degree qualified in Project Management Business Management, Civil Engineering or similar
• Demonstrate a sound understanding and experience working in the PNG maritime sector and its agencies.
• Experience in project management, procurement processes and tender evaluation; combined with high-level skills and experience in stakeholder engagement, facilitation, negotiation and presentation.
