BSP is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the position of Market & Liquidity Risk Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing a risk-based plan of the Bank’s Market and Liquidity position, in accordance with the Group Risk Appetite Statement, and Market and Liquidity Management Policies. The successful candidate will also be responsible for reviewing policies to ensure they remain relevant to the Group’s business, Regulatory Prudential Standards and current market practices.

Key deliverables

• Manage limits in conjunction with Middle Office. Ensure any breaches are remediated in timely manner.
• Assist with the Group Asset & Liability Committee (GALCO) agenda and submit designated reports.
• Attend GALCO meetings providing stress testing scenarios to manage BSP market and liquidity risks.
• Contribute to the preparation of Board papers and reports for tabling to Board Risk & Compliance Committee (BRCC) meetings
• Scope and undertake reviews of market practices with recommendations to GALCO.
• Complete regular reviews of Policies with a minimum biennial formal review to BRCC to be completed, implemented and communicated to all stakeholders.
• Document material and systemic issues are a clear and concise manner for presenting to the business.
• Ensure adherence to Market and Liquidity methodology. Any areas of process improvement within market and liquidity functions are to be discussed and developed with Group Chief Risk Officer and key stakeholders.
• Identify areas of improvement with Business-related Policies and process and progress implementation.
• Identifying and provide value adding advise to the business.
• Provide guidance and training for business staff on risk areas identified.
• Ensure team work cohesively to ensure consistent findings and all targets are achieved.
• Conduct all activities in a professional manner, in line with BSP Bank core values.

Preferred qualifications, professional/technical skills & experiences

• Tertiary qualification, preferably Accounting, Economics, Legal or Finance.
• Strong management and financial analysis skills.
• A strong understanding of Market and Liquidity policies and processes.
• A thorough understanding of market and liquidity risk functionality.
• Strong relationship and negotiation skills.
• Able to make sound and timely decisions.
• Ability to remain objective throughout the process and has the strength of character to complete assessments and reviews.
• A role model for integrity and upholding BSP Values, while gaining the respect of others.
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Strong analytical skills to undertake scenario stress testing.
