The Position
The Mentoring Specialist will develop and support the implementation of a plan to facilitate the skills development and support to female alumni of Australian education and Australian Government funded education programs in Papua New Guinea (PNG) to build their confidence and leadership capability.
In consultation with the Alumni Engagement Manager, the Mentoring Specialist will:
- Undertake a review of the current mentoring activities undertaken in PNG and their frameworks across the public, private and civil society.
- Consult with the key relevant stakeholders – including the Government of Australia and PNG, PNG Australia Alumni Association, Business Coalition for Women and Women in Leadership – to clarify the mentoring initiative goal, objectives, scope, approach, and operational framework.
- Develop a plan for a mentoring initiative including activity and related resources, such as but not limited to mentor and mentee workshops; mentoring agreement template, mentoring journal template; learning log template; and mentoring communication and tracking sheets.
Job Requirements
The Person
The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification(s) in education, educational leadership, human resource development, or related field with at least ten years’ professional experience in providing advice and designing initiatives regarding mentoring, coaching and human resource development, applying global principles and standards and the latest best practice.
