SP Brewery is seeking to employ an experienced OpCo Engineering Manager based in Port Moresby.
Brief description
- The Opco engineering manager coordinates technical activities for both production sites (maintenance, automation, improvement activities, people capabilities, projects, safety, etc.), he also advices the supply chain leadership team on all kind of technical matters.
- His main duties are to make sure that all technical equipment is in good condition in order to fulfil all production, quality, safety and legal requirement , and ensuring that maintenance and technical capabilities are well embedded in the organisation.
Main duties include
- Ensure the following engineering capabilities are covered in the OpCo to enable consistent production in the breweries: breakdown maintenance, planned maintenance, project engineering, automation, Utilities operation
- Define the ‘way of working’ in the engineering departments and OpCo engineering team. Provide clarity and coaching to brewery engineering managers. Implement new work processes and engineering policies, based on actual level and next step in development.
- Authorized to declare equipment operational or not-operational from a machine safety and people safety perspective. Define conditions for safe operation in case standards cannot be followed. Authorize modifications together with BM’s.
- Define the engineering organization model(s) and competency requirements for OpCo and brewery engineering teams. Benchmark and define R&M budget and FTE’s, based on operational plan
- Act as PM Pillar leader in the OpCo TPM team and define the strategy for continuous improvement of Planned Maintenance.
- Benchmark and search for new work methods, resource sharing and alliances to reduce cost.
- Responsible for capital expenditures assigned to engineering, including all related administration and operational ‘roll in’ (documentation, training, spare parts, PM system, etc.). Sign off on project deliverables (e.g. SAT) together with BM’s
- Being functional owner of engineering related applications, such as drawing tools, maintenance management systems and maintenance hard- en software (e.g. maintenance laptop for PLC)
Qualification & experience
- University degree in engineering
- 8 -10 years’ experience with relevant equipment and Engineering Management
- Broad knowledge engineering in different trades: mechanical, electrical, automation, instrumentation
- Broad knowledge in different types of machinery: power generation, power distribution, compressor, cooling systems, water and waste water treatment, steam systems, filtration systems, pumps, valves, filling, labeling, packing, conveying.
- Maintenance Engineering skills: setup of PM standards, setup computerize maintenance management system
