Marie Stopes International and WaterAid are funded by the Australian Government Aid program to deliver the Gender Action Platform project. The consortia partners (Water Aid and Marie Stopes PNG)are delivering an integrated menstrual hygiene management (MHM) and sexual, reproductive health (SRH) program focusing on girls in schools and their communities, as a demonstration model. The project is working with four primary schools in Central Province to deliver WASH facilities and resources, MHM and SRH education, awareness and uptake of health services.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Consultant will be responsible for the development of a teacher’s resource kit on sexual and reproductive health (SRH), targeting primary school teachers delivering the Personal Development curriculum. Working in line with the National Departments of Health and Education the GAP project is seeking to strengthen the menstrual hygiene management and sexual, reproductive health (SRH) components in the curriculum, to support gender equity and empower young people and communities to with MHM and SRH information and services. The person will be given specific deliverables, which will be delivered through an in-country visit and followed by home based work.

Job Requirements:

Requirements & Experience

• Advanced university degree (Master) in Education, and or health related training and development.
• Minimum five years of work experience in sexual reproductive health, especially with youth and adolescents, and at least three years in a developing country context.
• Solid technical knowledge and expertise of SRH for youth and adolescents’ curricula, tools and resources.

• Outstanding competence in the development of teacher’s aids, resources and materials to support the delivery of SRH in the school curriculum
• High level of organisational & coordination skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent command of English – both written and oral.
