GHD seeks applications for the role of Transport Sector Development Manager based in Port Moresby.

The shared long-term goal of TSSP is a safer, more reliable transport system in place enabling economic and social development in PNG.

The role

The program now seeks applications for a Transport Sector Development Manager based in Port Moresby in a fulltime, long-term contract position. Reporting to the Team Leader and sitting on the management team, this position plays a key role in the relationships with GoPNG partner agencies and oversees the program’s capacity development strategy, related investments and adviser support. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and supporting the program’s capacity development strategy, annual plans and related reporting;
• Supporting the transport sector governance framework and contributing to strategic thinking and quality analytical advice;

Specific Skill Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a degree relevant to transport / infrastructure / economics or the international development environment; combined with considerable work experience in international development program management, performance monitoring & accountability and aid effectiveness. Essential to this role is your experience in capacity development programs and demonstrated experience and success in managing technical teams. Previous experience in the transport or infrastructure sectors would be an advantage in addition to strong public and private sector networks in particular, the transport infrastructure sector. High level interpersonal relationship management and communication skills, including the ability to build relationships and convey concepts clearly and concisely will also be essential.
