Oxfam is seeking a WaSH Advisor-Consultant to provide support to the WaSH Manager to ensure effective leadership and management of the WaSH Program.

The consultancy role is responsible for providing support to the WaSH Manager to ensure effective leadership and management of the WaSH Program. This includes providing project management training and mentoring, taking on a counterpart role to support the WaSH manager.  The consultant will support the WaSH manager to develop and establish systems and processes in support to deliver quality outcomes under the WaSH program and to build a strong effective and efficient WaSH team.

Job requirements

• Formal qualifications at graduate or postgraduate level in WASH/engineering/ or public health promotion
• Relevant work experience in a managerial / supervisory capacity within a WASH programme working with an International NGO, (experience of working in or PNG  is highly desirable)
• Proven knowledge of community development methodologies and the ability to work in a participative manner developing shared ownership and vision
• Appropriate skills and experience in the capacity building and training of national staff and organizations
• Experience and/or a good understanding of rural participatory appraisal, and monitoring & evaluation methodologies
