PNGJobSeek’s client is looking for a highly skilled Workshop Manager to join its team.

A position has become available for a highly skilled and technically competent Workshop Manager to join the team at NSC Freighters and take ownership in the ongoing development of the company’s Production Schedule/Planner, together with the hands-on management of a busy Engineering/Fabrication Workshop.

Key responsibilities

• Trade qualification in ‘Boiler Making’.
• Minimum of 3years’ experience as a ‘Workshop Manager’ within a fabrication workshop.
• The understanding and successful control of welding techniques in order to carry out quality control and inspection, guide other tradesmen on achieving professional standards and maintaining a consistent approach to work documentation through time management.

Qualifications & skills

• Strong mechanical background, with at least 4 years’ experience in overseeing and/or supervising service operations.
• Demonstrated ability to control a large workshop.
• Good organisational skills, in terms of people, assets and processes.
