Air Niugini CEO to retire, new Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, a new Partner at law firm, Corrs Chambers Westgarth

Air Niugini CEO, Simon Foo, has announced his retirement. He has been with the national carrier for 40 years, after starting as a trainee traffic officer at Rabaul in 1971 for Trans Australia Airways. He was promoted to supervisor when the company became Air Niugini in 1973. The  current General Manager, Airline Operations, Tahawar Durrani, will be Acting CEO, until a permanent replacement is announced.

The National Executive Council has appointed Barbara Age as the new secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, replacing William Dihm. Her appointment is for an initial four years.

Litigator and advocate, Allan Mana, has joined Australian law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth as Partner in Port Moresby. Currently serving his third term on the Council of the PNG Law Society, Mana is a former Secretary of the PNG Commercial Disputes Centre.
