Re-elected Prime Minister Peter O’Neill has named an eight-member caretaker Cabinet, until a full team is appointed later this month. The positions are:

Peter O’Neill: Prime Minister, Bougainville Affairs

Charles Abel: Deputy Prime Minister, Treasury, Forestry, Civil Aviation, Sports and APEC, Lands and Physical Planning;

William Duma: Petroleum and Energy, Housing and Urbanisation, Public Enterprise and State Investments, Transport, and Agriculture and Livestock;

Sir Puka Temu: Public Service, Education, Health, Higher Education Research Science and Innovation;

James Marape: Finance, Fisheries, Police, Works and Implementation, and Attorney-General and Justice;

Richard Maru: National Planning and Monitoring, Labour and Industrial Relations, Trade Commerce and Industry, plus Communication Information and Technology;

Rimbink Pato: Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Correctional Services, Defence, and Community Development Youth and Religion;

Johnson Tuke: Mining, Culture and Tourism, Provincial Affairs, Environment and Conservation and Climate Change.

The Investment Promotion Authority has announced the appointment of Christopher Hnanguie as the Chairman of Securities Commission of Papua New Guinea. Hnanguie returns to PNG after having served with the Asian Development Bank for the past 22 years.

Air Niugini has appointed its first female General Manager to its subsidiary, Property and Facilities. Bonai Pepena Wala has worked in Air Niugini for 24 years. She was until recently Human Resource Manager.

Four new directors have been appointed to Maigari Limited, an umbrella landowner company for the inland pipeline area of the Ramu nickel project in Madang Province. They are Terry Aimai (Chairman), Lemek Kuruwara (Vice-Chairman) Sun Bob and Liogo Tanmara.

Accounting firm KPMG has announced that Herbert Maguma has become a partner in KPMG PNG.

Navin Raju has been appointed Chief Executive Officer at paint and coatings firm, Akzo Nobel (PNG).

Pacific Foam Group has appointed Santhosh Srinivasan as Group General Manager of the company’s Lae operations.
