People moves: The Business Council of PNG, GE, Digicel Fiji

New appointments to the board of the Business Council of PNG, a new CEO of General Electric, PNG, a new CEO at Digicel Fiji

The Business Council of PNG has elected Robert Nilkare is its new president, replacing David Toua. Nilkare, who is Country Manager for New Britain Palm Oil, wants to involve more businesses from sectors such as agriculture. Nuni Kulu has been elected Vice-President. She is currently Regional Manager (southern region) for Bank South Pacific. Susil Nelson-Kongoi has been elected Vice-President (International) and Alison Judd as Honorary Treasurer.

GE has appointed two chief executives to replace the outgoing Geoff Culbert, splitting his role as regional head in two. GE’s New Zealand country leader, Kevin Hart, will now head GE New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, replacing the late Peter Loko. Hart has worked in the energy sector for more than three decades, and will be focused on developing both New Zealand and PNG’s electricity infrastructure. Max York, the former general manager for GE Aviation in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, and the South Pacific has been appointed as the company’s new Australian chief executive.

Digicel Fiji has announced the appointment of Mike Greig as its Chief Executive Officer. He will have complete operational oversight across the entire business including Digicel, Unwired and Sky Pacific.
