Business Ready (B-READY) is the World Bank’s successor to the discontinued Ease of Doing Business index. Unlike its predecessor, B-READY does not produce a single global ranking. Instead, it provides data across multiple indicators, on a scale from 100 for the highest score to 0 for the lowest.
The scores for each of the three pillars – Regulatory Framework, Public Services and Operational Efficiency – are calculated by taking the average of the corresponding scores across the 10 B-READY topics.
PNG received the following pillar scores in 2025:
| PILLAR | PNG SCORE | GLOBAL AVERAGE |
| Regulatory framework | 55.28 | 66.32 |
| Public services | 33.46 | 53.97 |
| Operational efficiency | 42.69 | 60.03 |
PNG received the following B-READY scores in 2025:
| B-READY TOPIC | PNG SCORE |
| Business entry | 51.67 |
| Business location | 42.20 |
| Utility services | 50.37 |
| Labour | 54.05 |

| International trade | 30.73 |
| Taxation | 46.58 |
| Dispute resolution | 28.54 |
