POMCCI Business Breakfast in Collaboration with PwC

The Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce & Industry (POMCCI) will be hosting a Business Breakfast event in collaboration with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) on Wednesday, 28 October 2026.

The event will feature presentations by Michael Collins on the Family Business Survey and Peter Burnie on the Income Tax Update, covering relevant insights and developments for the business community.

Speakers: 

Michael Collins, Partner at PwC 

Michael has been working with family-owned business leaders in PNG for over years and leading the Private team at PWC PNG for four years, having previously worked in PwC PNG’s corporate tax team for seven years and has been involved across New Zealand and PNG in providing tax and company secretarial compliance and advisory services, including payroll services and dispute resolution, to a wide variety of local and multinational organisations.

Michael currently works with business owners in PNG to help them with the complex issues of managing a successful private company and responding to day-to-day challenges, whilst helping them stay focused on achieving their long-term business and personal goals.

Michael has also presented several PwC tax technical trainings and at Certified Practising Accountants PNG (CPA PNG) conferences and authored several articles relatingto various issues affecting Family Businesses and Small and Medium Sized Businesses in PNG.

Outside his role at PWC PNG, Michael has also had a strong involvement with community-based organisations in PNG and NZ, with recent committee roles on both the Port Moresby Kiwi Club Association inc. and the PNG NZ Business Council Inc.

Peter Burnie, Partner at PwC

Currently a Tax Partner at PwC PNG, Peter has a wide experience in providing taxation advice across diverse industries and investor types, with strong exposure to mining and resources. He manages tax compliance and administration and assists clients in disputes with tax authorities. He also advises on international taxation and transactions, covering direct and indirect tax as well as personal and employment-related taxation.
