Seminar overview

This half-day free seminar explores how businesses can use arbitration in their cross-border and domestic dealings to resolve disputes quickly and efficiently outside of the court system. The program will explore:

  • How arbitration works and why it is the most used and effective means of resolving business disputes world-wide
  • Why arbitration is often the ONLY way for a PNG business to recover money from an offshore-based business
  • The power of arbitration to chase assets of a debtor in over 170 countries with relative ease
  • Why investors into PNG prefer arbitration to litigation and your business might too
  • A high-level overview of the new international and domestic arbitration regime in PNG and how your business can use it.

Any business with domestic or overseas contracts for goods and services such as energy, mining, oil & gas, renewables, construction, technology, banking, forestry, fishing, agribusiness, shipping and tourism.
