Vanguard’s client Kumul Consolidated Holdings (KCH) is a Statutory Corporation with a clearly defined mandate to build shareholder wealth and to improve the provision of services to the people of Papua New Guinea (PNG). KCH is the holding company for nine Majority State Owned Enterprises (SOE) operating across a broad range of sectors in PNG and included in these SOEs is Kumul Telikom Holdings Limited (KTHL) and under KTHL is PNG DataCo.

PNG DataCo is managing the implementation of new domestic submarine fibre capacity. The company is also managing the PNG component of the new Coral Sea Cable System submarine cable between PNG, SI and Australia.

PNG DataCo is inviting exceptional candidates to apply for the vital role of CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER.

The Chief Executive Officer is based in Port Moresby, PNG and has ultimate responsibility for the day to day running of PNG DataCo by working with the Board and the Executive Management Team to competently manage the day to day affairs of PNG DataCo.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction to the Board and the Executive Management team in developing and implementing the annual operating plan, the capital budget plan and ensuring effective delivery of the long-term strategic plan
• Recommend the annual budget for Board approval and prudently manage PNG DataCo’s resources within budget and according to current laws and regulations
• Significantly driving revenue growth, including expanding the customer base whilst assisting carriers and ISPs to deliver increased value in the market through the provision of reliable and consistent service

Skills and Qualifications

• Post Graduate qualifications and a minimum of 10 years demonstrated executive management experience of a substantial telecommunications institution
• Extensive experience of the International Carrier Business with a demonstrable network of wholesale (A2P) business relationships including system build consortiums
• History of Capital Project Management, in particular of sub-sea and Satellite projects exceeding of U$D100M in value
• Proven track record of the establishment and monetization of High Availability (T2 or 3 Category) Data centers
• Extensive knowledge and a track record of establishing and monetizing Big Data Analytics
