Director Drafts & Advisory
The Constitutional and Law Reform Commission is a statutory body of the Government of PNG responsible for reviewing, reforming and modernising the country’s laws. The Commission is seeking a Director – Drafts & Advisory to support its legislative reform work through legal research, policy development and the drafting of legislation that responds to the social, economic and governance needs of PNG.
Responsibilities
The Director Drafts & Advisory is responsible for leading legislative drafting and providing legal advisory services to support the Commission’s law reform initiatives. The role involves overseeing the preparation and review of legislative instruments, providing expert legal guidance on reform projects, and ensuring that proposed laws and amendments align with national policy, legal frameworks and government priorities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognised university (a Master of Laws will be an advantage)
- Admission to practice law in Papua New Guinea or an eligible jurisdiction
- Extensive experience in legislative drafting, legal advisory services, or law reform work
