Director General – Executive Level 3
The National Disaster Centre (NDC) of Papua New Guinea seeks an experienced Director General to provide strategic leadership across its Directorates and Branches. The NDC is the government agency responsible for coordinating disaster risk reduction, preparedness, and emergency response nationwide.
Responsibilities:
The Director General provides leadership and management support for the NDC’s core functions and corporate objectives in disaster risk reduction and response coordination. The role also serves as a Financial Delegate under the PFMA, authorized to requisition Centre funds.
Requirements:
- Degree in a relevant field, preferably with a master’s qualification in Public Administration, Business Administration, Emergency and Logistics Management, Information and Communication Science, or Political Science.
- Advanced Diploma of Governance (Leadership and Governance) from SILAG is an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years’ public service experience, including 3 years in senior management and exposure to Disaster Risk Management and Operations.
