East New Britain Port Services Ltd (ENBPS) seeks to appoint an experienced General Manager to manage a range of shipping, barging, stevedoring, transport and logistics operations within the company.

ENBPS, a 100% subsidiary of East New Britain Development Corporation Group of companies (ENBDC), the business arm of East New Britain Provincial Government, seeks to appoint an experienced General Manager to manage a range of shipping, barging, stevedoring, transport and logistics operations within the company.

The successful candidate will ensure all required shipping standards and operational efficiencies are established and maintained in all facets of their business operations. The position will be based at their Rabaul Office with necessary travels outside of Rabaul on business. The General Manager reports to the Group Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer and the Company Board of Directors.

The successful candidate must be well disciplined, analytical, well-organized and excels in communication at all levels. He / She must be comfortable with paperwork and information systems and have well developed skills and knowledge of shipping, stevedoring and transport industry operations both domestically and internationally.

The General Manager they are looking for must safely manage resources to drive operational efficiencies, maximize revenue and develop further business opportunities in line with the strategies of the company and the whole group.

Job requirements

• Must have had a minimum of 10 years of experience as a General Manager in shipping or a diversified logistics company.
• Ability to act as Chairman of the Emergency Response Team.
• Proven experience as Port Services Manager.
• Solid knowledge of logistics procedures.
• Experience in preparing shipping documents.
• Excellent knowledge of MS-Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
• Ability to manage a diversified group of managers.
• Must be able to develop budgets and reporting
