An exciting opportunity exists at BOC PNG Ltd Head Office in Lae for a Procurement Manager. The Procurement Manager will join their Procurement Team in the Supply Chain Department and will be part of a busy team controlling the daily SAP and SRM Procurement Purchasing Functions.

Job description

• Solid business acumen and the ability to manage and monitor financial budgets, and possess experience with an accounting background
• Provide purchasing services, including negotiating with suppliers for best price and service, coordinating and leveraging in the market place for the procurement of materials
• A thorough understanding of supply chain processes as well as procurement, sales and finance
• Liaise with current, new and potential suppliers to formulate purchasing arrangements with best price, quality and delivery
• Produce daily, weekly and end of month reports ensuring they are accurate and completed to the agreed timeframes

Job requirements

 To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following skills and attributes:

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Demonstrate maturity and initiative with strong work ethics
• Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with excellent internal & external customer service skills
• Computer literacy including basic knowledge of Microsoft applications, use of SAP is advantageous
