With just a week to go, the final program has been announced for the 2023 Papua New Guinea Investment Conference. The two-day conference and expo will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Brisbane, Australia on 10 & 11 August.

The annual event, taking place in Brisbane 10–11 August, promotes business and investment opportunities in PNG to a global audience.

PNG’s premier international investment promotion event is renowned for its engaging program and high calibre of speakers.

This year, the conference returns to the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) with a first-rate line-up headlined by celebrated Australian finance journalist, Alan Kohler.

Another international expert, KPMG’s Jonathan Peacock, will provide insights into getting your ESG strategy right in PNG. Meanwhile Westpac’s Senior Economist Justin Smirk will share “Six things every business leader needs to know about PNG’s economy”.

A conference highlight will be a panel of experts discussing the key features on PNG’s prevailing investment climate and identifying the risks and rewards. Topics to be covered include recent and planned regulatory changes, investment trends, and sectors where there are opportunities.

As a bonus session, there will be a Pacific Islands Business Briefing on the Friday morning, with high-profile speakers including the CEO of Investment Fiji providing updates on the wider Pacific Islands economy.

The conference overall attracts some of the most dynamic companies in the Asia-Pacific, as well as government and global institutional investors. Delegates range from key industry thought-leaders, to company heads, senior executives, investors and board members.
