People 02Foo confirmed as ANL CEO

Simon Foo has been confirmed as Chief Executive Officer of Papua New Guinea’s national carrier, Air Niugini, after a stint as Acting CEO.

Foo has been with the state-owned airline for 25 years, both as an employee and latterly as a director.

New Chief Ombudsman

Rigo Lua has been appointed the new Chief Ombudsman of Papua New Guinea. He was previously Acting Chairman of the Public Service Commission. Lua takes over from Acting Chief Ombudsman Phoebe Sangetari.

Toomey jets to India

Former CEO of Airlines PNG, Gary Toomey, has been appointed the new CEO of India’s second-largest airline Jet Airways (India), following the resignation of Nikos Kardassis. Toomey led Airlines PNG from 2009 to late 2012.

Pearce joins Warwick

Warwick International Group has appointed Lee Pearce as Regional General Manager—South Pacific. Lee was previously Area General Manager Fiji for Accor Multibrand Hotels.

According to a company statement, Lee will be responsible for Warwick’s resorts in Fiji, Vanuatu and Bali, ‘as well as other new resorts in the region’.
