New CEO for Newcrest Mining, a changing of the guard at Marengo Mining and a resignation from the board of Airlines PNG
Sandeep Biswas has been appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Newcrest Mining Limited, effective 4 July 2014. He will succeed Greg Robinson, who will leave Newcrest and retire from its board on the same day. Biswas commenced with Newcrest on 1 January 2014 as Chief Operating Officer and as an Executive Director, with the expectation that he would succeed Robinson later this year.

Pieter Britz has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Marengo Mining with immediate effect. He replaces Les Emery, who founded the company in 2002, but has now stepped down. Britz was previously with the Sentient Group, Marengo’s largest shareholder. In another changes, John Mears has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, while Ian Hume has resigned as a director.
