People moves: Bank South Pacific, Credit Corp, Kutubu Special Purpose Authority, Oil Search, Westpac Outstanding Woman of the Year

BSP appoints new General Manager for Pacific Islands, new board appointments at Credit Corp, new board members at Kutubu Special Purpose Authority, resignation at Oil Search and Westpac chooses its Outstanding Woman of the Year.

Bank South Pacific has appointed Daniel Faunt as General Manager, responsible for all of BSP banking operations in Fiji, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Tonga, Samoa and the Cook Islands.

Other appointments include Haroon Ali as the new Country Head, Fiji, to succeed Kevin McCarthy who is retiring at the end of 2018. Ali, who will be the first Fijian to head the bank’s business in Fiji, has held the position of Group Chief Risk Officer since July 2013 based in Port Moresby. Mike Hallinan, currently the Chief Credit Officer, will take on the role of Group Chief Risk Officer.

Credit Corp has appointed William Lamur and Johnson Kalo as independent board members. Chairman Sir Wilson Kamit also says that John Dunlop will retire at the end of June.

The Kutubu Special Purpose Authority has appointed Moses Mewayo as its new Chairman and Moses Kosi as Deputy Chairman. Mewayo replaces Norman Ba’abi, who has been the Chairman of KSPA for the last 15 years.

Gerea Aopi, Executive Director of Oil Search, has resigned from the Oil Search board but will maintain his association with the company by serving as PNG Country Chair.

The Westpac Outstanding Woman of the Year is Ruth Kissam, who rescues women and children from sorcery-related violence.
