A new Petroleum and Energy Minister amid Cabinet reshuffle plus changes at Newcrest.
PNG has a new Petroleum and Energy Minister, following a Cabinet reshuffle. William Duma has been replaced by Nixon Duban, a member of Mr O’Neill’s People’s National Congress party.
The independent MP Robert Atiyafa has been appointed the new Police Minister. The National Congress party’s Nick Kuman is the new Education Minister, while Delilah Gore of the Triumph Heritage and Empowerment party has taken up the Higher Education portfolio.

The Executive General Manager (PNG Operations) for Newcrest Mining, Brett Fletcher, will be leaving the company at the end of February. Acting Chief Operating Officer, Craig Jones, will take on the role of EGM Australian Operations & Projects, reporting directly to the incoming CEO and MD, Sandeep Biswas. David Woodall has been appointed Executive General Manager (International Operations), responsible for the Lihir, Indonesian and Côte d’Ivoire operations.
