People moves: Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Ombudsman, Chief Justice

A new Executive elected to the Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Accountant Ombudsman, Chief Justice retires.

At the 63rd Annual General Meeting of the Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc. held on Monday 5 November at the Crown Hotel, the following were duly elected to the Executive for 2018/19: President: Rio Fiocco; Vice-President:  Peter Goodwin; Treasurer:  Akae Beach; Secretary:Michael Henao; General Committee:  Ian Clough, Chetan Chopra, Lynn Walsh, Vani Nades, Janet Sios.

The acting Governor-General has sworn in Kevin Kopii Kopere as the Accountant Ombudsman. The position had been vacant since 2014.

The 10-year term of office of the Chief Justice, Sir Salamo Injla has ended. Deputy Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika has automatically assumed the role until the National Executive Council either extends Sir Salamo’s term or appoints a new Chief Justice.
