Final program announced for PNG’s showcase investment promotion event in Sydney

Business Advantage International is excited to announce that the program for its prestigious annual Papua New Guinea Investment Conference, being held this year at the  Shangri-La Hotel in Sydney on 19 & 20 August 2019, has now been finalised.

With over 30 industry thought-leaders, influential government officials, company heads and senior executives as well as an unrivalled line-up of keynote speakers, the conference is widely recognised as being Papua New Guinea’s showcase investment promotion event.

The keynote speaker on Day One is Bernard Salt AM, one of Australia’s leading social commentators and business analysts. Bernard will describe how social and cultural change are rising forces that are reshaping the way people live and work.

  • A focus on services, with experts highlighting emerging trends in the sector, and case studies illustrating successful business models.

On Day Two we welcome back keynote speaker Mark Pesce, a leading futurist, author, entrepreneur and innovator. Following a memorable keynote speech at our 2017 conference, Mark returns to outline some of the business and investment opportunities that will arise from PNG’s improved connectivity.

Day Two will provide an authoritative guide on the outlook for ICT, energy and transport in PNG with presentations from the Country Director for the Asian Development Bank (David Hill), as well as the CEOs of Air Niugini (Alan Milne), National Airport Corporation (Richard Yopo) and PNG Power (Carolyn Blacklock).

Other Day Two highlights are:

  • Update on the two undersea cable projects from PNG Dataco’s Paul Komboi.
  • In-conversation with the Chairman of Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce (Rio Fiocco) and Lae Chamber of Commerce (John Byrne).

It is anticipated that the Hon. James Marape MP, Papua New Guinea’s recently appointed Prime Minister, will give the conference’s opening address.
