Papua New Guineas can now apply for Aussie visas online

Papua New Guinea citizens can now apply for visas to visit Australia online, part of a slow but steady improvement in immigration procedures between the two countries.

The PNG Online Visitor subclass 600 visa, first flagged last year, is for Papua New Guinea citizens who want to visit Australia for up to one year, for tourism or business purposes.

It means PNG nationals no longer need to present or post their visa applications to the Australian Visa Application Centre, which should speed up processing times if all the required documents are provided.

The new regime also means it will be easier for those who have held an Australian visa in the previous two years, as some data will be stored from previous applications.
