The definitive annual snapshot of Papua New Guinea’s mining and energy sectors is out now, with the launch of the second annual edition of Mining & Energy in October 2025.

Business Advantage International has been covering business in Papua New Guinea, including its mining and energy sector, since 2006, when we published our first annual snapshot of PNG’s economy, Business Advantage PNG.

We launched Mining & Energy in 2024 to provide the world-class resources journalism that PNG’s most important export industry deserved. With major projects approaching and the global energy transition accelerating, the industry is arguably set to play an even more important economic role over the coming decade.

Mining & Energy will now be published annually and also have regular online presence. In preparing this second annual edition, our editorial team interviewed dozens of key industry executives, both within PNG and internationally, from both majors and juniors. We also talked to many business leaders that provide products and services to the sector.

This 60-page magazine is published in partnership with Kumul Petroleum Holdings and Kumul Minerals Holdings, in both print and digital formats.
