With a strong decade on the horizon for mining, petroleum and gas in Papua New Guinea, Business Advantage PNG’s Mining & Energy Special Edition returns for a second year in 2025.

As PNG’s resources sector gears up for an anticipated decade or more of new investment, with an estimated US$50 billion pipeline of projects lined up for development, Business Advantage PNG is significantly expanding its coverage of the sector with the second annual edition of its Mining & Energy (M&E) publication, to be published in October this year.

The feedback on the inaugural edition in 2024 was so positive that we have decided to make it an annual publication.

Since 2006, Business Advantage PNG has been Papua New Guinea’s leading business media. Its annual print edition, together with its sister online magazine (www.businessadvantagepng.com), has set the benchmark for editorial quality and readability, drawing on first-hand interviews with senior executives and in-country research.

Partnerships

The first edition of Mining & Energy (M&E) was published in October 2024, in partnership with PNG’s two key state-owned resources companies, Kumul Petroleum and Kumul Minerals. These two companies are returning once again to the 2025 edition as key industry partners, and we are grateful for their continued support.

Last year’s edition provided a concise and clear overview of all the major projects and key industry trends, based on hours of interviews and research by the acclaimed Business Advantage PNG editorial team. It featured exclusive interviews, market analysis and updates on key mining and energy projects, including the all-important Papua LNG, Wafi-Golpu and Pasca A projects.

The second edition of M&E will feature more exclusive interviews with key industry executives, updates on key projects, and coverage of companies supporting the sector with equipment and services.

The second edition will again showcase the skills of Business Advantage PNG’s senior business editor, Nadav Shemer Shlezinger, who managed the inaugural edition. Shlezinger is an experienced business and resources journalist, having come to Business Advantage International from Aspermont, publisher of Mining Journal and other leading industry publications.
