Better market intelligence on Papua New Guinea

Welcome,

In a country like PNG, where even the National Population and Housing Census (due again next year) is problematic, market data and intelligence is hard to come by.

Our service was created to help.

This month, you will see new subscriber-only content on www.businessadvantagepng.com, as we begin publishing profiles of PNG’s major industry sectors on the Doing Business in PNG page.

These profiles will be living documents, updated and expanded over time, where appropriate.

They will complement the existing business profiles of every PNG province published earlier this year, as well as our popular directory of PNG’s top companies, and much more.

More market intelligence is planned, so bookmark the page.

While we’re on this topic, every year since 2012 Business Advantage International has conducted a survey of the CEOs of PNG’s largest companies.

Story continues after advertisment...

The questions in the PNG 100 CEO Survey don’t change from year to year.

We ask CEOs about their profit expectations, investment plans, recruitment intentions and the impediments facing their business.

Over time, the results provide a valuable snapshot of business confidence in PNG. (You can see a video presentation on this year’s survey here.)

The research for our 2020 survey has just started and we are working with a partner for the first time: Westpac.

While the survey itself will continue to be compiled confidentially by Business Advantage International, Westpac will be adding value by providing more in-depth analysis of the data, not just of the new survey but of previous surveys.

Our subscribers will be first to receive the results of the 2020 Business Advantage/Westpac PNG 100 CEO Survey in early February next year.

Finally, a brief reminder that the Early Bird booking deadline for the Innovation PNG 2019 Conference, to be held on 8 November at the Stanley Hotel, Port Moresby, is today.

You can register for this exciting new event, which Business Advantage International is co-hosting with the Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce and Industry, here.

There will be around 30 guest speakers participating in a busy and stimulating program, which will also include the announcement of the inaugural Innovation PNG Awards.

You can read a sneak preview of what keynote speaker Pete Williams of Deloitte’s Centre for the Edge will be saying at the conference here.

Andrew Wilkins is Publishing Director of Business Advantage International.
