More than 70 business delegates representing 53 Papua New Guinea companies from various industries are participating in a trade show in the Solomon Islands this week.
The Investment Promotion Authority (IPA) is co-ordinating the trade and investment mission, which is being led by Trade Minister Richard Maru.
The PNG Government is subsidising the mission to the tune of K250,000 (US$108,000) .
The IPA’s managing director Ivan Pomaleu said Solomon Islands’ businesses want to link up with PNG companies in the following areas:
- transport
- legal services
- education
- accounting
- construction
- tourism
- information and communication technology
- food and beverages
- manufacturing and retail
- business consultancy
- heavy industries
- fisheries
- handicrafts
- tabu shell trade, and
- petroleum.
